DrillFlo Tutorial #2– Selecting, Aligning, Rotating & Expanding Formations
This video is a tutorial on how to use the DrillFlo application for designing and managing drill formations. Here is a summary of the key functionalities covered:
Selecting and Aligning Performers
To select performers, you can enter select mode by clicking the select mode button on the left toolbar or by pressing the number two key. Once in select mode, you can select performers by clicking and dragging your mouse over them. To create clean lines, you can use the alignment tools on the right side of the screen. These tools allow you to align performers to the center, left, right, top, middle, or bottom of their selected positions.
Adjusting Spacing and Scaling Formations
The spacing between performers can be adjusted using the spacing tool located at the bottom of the field editor. This is especially useful when transitioning from a curved formation to a straight line. To scale your formations larger or smaller while maintaining proportional spacing, you can use the expand tool. This tool is activated by hovering over a corner of the selection until the expand icon appears, then dragging inward or outward.
Rotating Formations
To rotate a formation, select the performers you want to rotate and then hover over a corner of the selection until the rotation cursor icon appears. Clicking and dragging will spin the formation around its center point. This is useful for creating pinwheels, gates, and other rotational movements.
